Here at BioTalent, our team is spread far and wide, with a presence across all our US offices, as well as in the UK and Europe. In our ‘Getting to Know You’ section, where we introduce you to key players within the BioTalent team, we meet someone who made the exciting move across to the US.
Meet Perrin!
Perrin joined us after six years of recruitment experience in London. Having previously worked with BioTalent’s CEO, James, she knew the business well. The stars aligned for her when The IN Group acquired BioTalent and the opportunity to join the MedTech team in San Diego presented itself. Let’s find out more about how Perrin feels about working for BioTalent:
Q. Tell us a bit more about your journey in recruitment.
"I have six years of recruitment experience, beginning in contract finance recruitment in London and more recently joining the founding leadership team of a start-up agency focused on HealthTech recruitment in the US that scaled rapidly. At BioTalent, I work within Client Solutions, focusing on the MedTech sector in the US. It’s a market I’m truly passionate about, and being client-focused for the past three years has meant I’ve had the opportunity to meet inspirational leaders who are mission-driven, caring, and collaborative (as opposed to transactional). Additionally, the Medical Device and Digital Health industries combined are estimated to be worth around $200 billion in the US alone – it’s an ever-evolving and innovative market that is only projected to grow."
Q. What do you think of the BioTalent brand?
"The BioTalent brand has a strong reputation and even more power since joining The IN Group and combining teams globally. To be successful, you need to have passion for your market and product – you need to believe in what you’re selling."
Q. Why did you join BioTalent?
"I joined BioTalent as I’d previously worked with James (CEO) and other leaders in the business and always respected the culture; one of accountability, maturity, and a touch of class. It has also been a long-term dream of mine to move to the West Coast in America, so when BioTalent joined The IN Group and the opportunity to join the MedTech-focused San Diego office was presented, it felt like the stars had aligned. Being part of The IN Group will facilitate learning, growth, and client collaboration opportunities from a diverse set of talent services."
Q. How important is DEI to you?
"BioTalent holds Communities, such as Race in STEM, to high regard. It matters to me that as a business we are making an impact on DEI. I think it’s important to remain true to your ‘why’, show up authentically and unapologetically, and be open to leaving your comfort zone in order to develop."
Q. What are important factors in your role?
"Passion for your market and product is extremely important to me – you need to believe in what you’re selling. That’s why it’s important to be part of a business and team that you want to represent. BioTalent holds Communities, such as Race in STEM, to high regard and sees the value in impacting DE&I across its network. It has a track record of successfully delivering innovative services outside of the traditional contingent model and offers a working environment that suits ambitious and creative people."
Q. How would you describe your management style?
"My management style to all stakeholders and team members is to be empathetic, vulnerable, and trusting whilst always working towards a goal and having a vision. As somebody who’s seen a lot in recruitment in a short amount of time, I think it’s important to remain true to your ‘why’, show up authentically and unapologetically, and be open to leaving your comfort zone in order to develop. These values are well-aligned with BioTalent. The brand has a strong reputation and even more power since joining The IN Group and combining teams globally."
We are thrilled to have Perrin on board and look forward to seeing the great impact she will continue to make in the US MedTech sector. Stay tuned for more stories and introductions to the amazing members of our BioTalent team!
